Skills, knowledge, creativity, confidence, passion and above all actions & plans: these are the things I believe in and like to pass on

Here are some main areas I can help you with, but digital media is a broad field so please don’t hesitate to get in touch to describe your project or your requirements.

Digital strategies

The best way to bring your charity’s mission to life online is with a strategy. Few charities have one, and many fear sitting down to the task, but it’s really not so arduous and the benefits are educational, social, financial and operational. I have found it an excellent way of bringing ideas and people together for a common goal. It’s also the perfect way to prioritise!

A stratgey is about direction and vision and creating a real path to achieve it. Here’s what KnowHowNonProfit has to say about strategies!

I’ve done digital strategies for Action for Children, Christian Aid, CAF, ChangeUp (a former government project) and Operation Smile UK.

Performance audits

Audit is a dreadful word but over the years I have grown to love it and them! A website performance audit examines all the hard and soft metrics to determine what delivers a positive return to audience and organisation alike, with the goal of modifying the website to make it as effective as it can be. A report of implementable recommendations is produced.

An audit is often a preamble to a strategy and I have done them for lots of clients including Action for Children, Christian Aid, and the South West Wildlife Trusts.

Market insights

Market insights are simply ‘truths’ about the environment and the people relevant to what you do, and yes, charities need them as much as businesses. What better way to delight and inspire your stakeholders than by knowing what motivates them, or equally what turns them off.

There are many places to get broad market insights about the charity sector, consumer behaviour or donors, and a few of my favourites are nfpSynergy, CAF and Charity Insight magazine, but what I help you do is come up with a specific view of what is right for your organisation, stakeholders and supporters. It’s vital for new product development too!

I have worked on primary and secondary market research with nfpSynergy and have given market awareness training to the The South West Wildlife Trusts, Refugee Council, and Action for Children.
