about

I'm an absurdist. Our built world is a construct. Its structures are man-made - we can unmake and remake them better, turning chaos into purpose..
My story begins with an outsized leap from languages to commerce when I ran a Commercial Centre in my childhood home of Gibraltar. I loved walking the shop floor, troubleshooting and running the accounts, especially for the car park!
But it was at my second role where I began to wrap my mind around social change and collaboration, working for the largest organisation representing local and regional governments across Europe, allowing them to have a voice in European policymaking. I developed a hunger to be a part of positive change thanks to the brilliant people from so many different countries and cultures that I worked alongside.

Roll forwards 30 years and I have collectively been Executive Director of a philanthropy charity, Chief Digital and Marketing Officer at a travel technology startup that I co-founded, a Research Editor in a major publishing house and the digital pioneer for the UK's largest charity intermediary the Charities Aid Foundation. Add in a few rounds of strategic consulting and a little bit of volunteer advisory.
I've been fortunate, weaving a series of "happy accidents" and new adventures together in a passion and pursuit of a strong civil society, techforgood and the 5Ts of philanthropy -- while still making my family the best legacy I can leave.

It is this hybrid career that allows me to balance the tensions between purpose, profit, innovation and impact while having the empathy to understand that every social change journey is different. I've sailed in fair winds and failed in dark declines.

It would be my pleasure to build better things with you.
